Frequently Asked Questions Before You Buy

Common questions from engineers and procurement teams selecting valve automation products.

How do I choose the right pneumatic actuator?
Start with your valve type (ball, butterfly, or plug), required torque, and fail-safe action. Rack & pinion actuators suit low to medium torque; Scotch yoke actuators handle high torque. Define spring return or double acting based on whether the valve must fail-close or fail-open on air loss.
What is the difference between spring return and double acting actuators?
Spring return actuators use compressed air to drive the valve and an internal spring to return to a safe position when air or power is lost (fail-close or fail-open). Double acting actuators use air pressure in both directions and hold the valve in its last position when air supply stops. See our pneumatic actuator range for both options.
Which valve gearbox is suitable for butterfly valves?
Worm gear valve gearboxes are ideal for large butterfly valves that require high break torque and manual or electric operation. For extremely high torque applications, consider the JMG Series with reduction unit.
Can JIMAI provide 2D or 3D drawings?
Yes. JIMAI provides free 2D drawings and 3D/STP files scaled 1:1 for your project integration. Submit your valve parameters through our contact form and our engineering team will respond promptly.
What information is required before quotation?
To provide an accurate quote, please share: valve type, valve size, required torque, working pressure, power or signal requirement, environment (standard or hazardous area), mounting standard (ISO 5211, NAMUR, etc.), and quantity. The more detail you provide, the faster we can confirm model fit.
